About

I have beem an electronics engineer since becoming an apprentice in 1964 and a computer programmer since 1978 (yes, they really did have computers that long ago!). I began repairing Talking Book players (for the RNIB Wembley Library) in the early 1970's and have been a recording engineer for TTN since 1985 when I moved to Tynedale from Yorkshire.

It has been a privilege to share my passion for software and electronics with other engineers in our "techie" volunteers team here at TTN and to see the evolution of our service from analog cassette tapes to digital programmes on memory sticks.

More recently, I'm pleased to be part of the team keeping TTN running during very difficult times by recording over Zoom (video conferencing service) during the Covid epidemic lockdown. What a joy it is to share my volunteering with so many wonderful and like-minded folk.

Peace and blessings,

Pete
