Local Audio News
for
People With Impaired Vision
Tynedale Talking Newspaper (TTN) is a small charity with an income from fund raising and donations.
Founded in 1982, it's run by around 60 volunteers, forming 8 reading teams.
Each week the Hexham Courant is recorded and copied to standard USB memory sticks, which are sent to about 80 blind and partially sighted listeners in Tynedale.
In 2020 we began recording and distributing audio versions of The Northumbrian magazine and every three months we produce our own audio magazine featuring items of local interest.
Listeners can play recordings on their own computer or on a special player, designed for people with impaired vision.
TTN can provide these on free loan.
